The walking aid designed for cerebral palsy

Discover how Wheeleo® improves mobility for cerebral palsy patients.

What is cerebral palsy?
Cerebral palsy (CP) or cerebral palsy (CP) covers several neurological disorders characterized by impaired movement and posture. It is caused by damage to the brain before or during childbirth, or in the first few years of life. These lesions can be triggered by genetic disease, infection of the mother or infant, fetal stroke, trauma or lack of oxygen. This disrupts brain development, leading to an inability to control muscles.

What are the symptoms of cerebral palsy?
Depending on the area of the brain affected and the severity of the lesions, cerebral palsy may manifest itself as muscular stiffness (spastic cerebral palsy), an inability to control movement (dyskinetic CP), a lack of balance and coordination (ataxic CP), or a combination of both.

In general, symptoms of cerebral palsy include problems with mobility, coordination and fine motor skills, such as speaking and eating. Depending on the severity of the condition, symptoms start to appear when the child begins to move. Early signs of cerebral palsy include the baby’s inability to lift his or her head, poor muscle tone in the arms and legs, stiffness in the joints,…

How the Wheeleo® Helps People with Cerebral Palsy.

The treatment of cerebral motor impairment involves trying to stimulate the child’s development as much as possible in order to limit the symptoms and other negative effects of the brain injury. So it’s important to recognize the early signs of cerebral palsy, such as a child’s inability to achieve milestones like crawling, walking and talking.
If you are diagnosed with cerebral palsy, you may experience a range of physical difficulties depending on the severity of the brain damage. If you have problems with movement, muscle tone and coordination, your doctor may have advised you to undergo physical therapy and stay as active as possible.

As a patient with cerebral palsy, you may have found that movement can be difficult or exhausting. An adapted mobility aid, such as a rear walker, could help, but it seems impossible to find one that meets your needs.

In this case, an intuitive mobility aid like Wheeleo® can help you improve your mobility.
