Belgium

In Brussels

Since January 1, 2024, Wheeleo® has been partially reimbursed by your mutual insurance company via Iriscare.

“Wheeleo® is reimbursed for a user who has a severe, long-term functional impairment of one of their upper limbs, which prevents them from using a walking frame.”

How to benefit :

Test the Wheeleo® with a physiotherapist or ergo from a rehabilitation center (+ test report) > List of centers
Obtain a medical prescription (appendix 19) from your GP/specialist.
Contact the bandagist of your choice.

Appendix 19 bis (multidisciplinary report) is not required as part of the extended procedure, and is therefore not necessary for an application for Wheeleo®.

In Flanders

Wheeleo® is is not yet reimbursed in Flanders. Contact your hospital insurance or mutual insurance company to explore alternatives.

In Wallonia

Partial reimbursement of Wheeleo® has been possible since March 2025via your mutual insurance company and the AVIQ.

Same procedure as in Brussels:

Test the Wheeleo® with a physiotherapist or ergo from a rehabilitation center (test report) > List of centers
Obtain a medical prescription (Appendix 1).
Contact the bandagist of your choice.

In most cases, when there is reimbursement, it is necessary to contact an approved medical equipment retailer, have a medical prescription. A motivation report from a health professional certifying a positive test is sometimes required (Brussels, for example). Purchasing on our Wheeleo.eu webshop does not allow for reimbursement, even if you meet the correct indications.
