Stroke Clinical Case: Wheeleo® versus Quad Cane

This person, who arrived at the nursing home with a quad cane, has a limited ability to improve their motor skills, given the time elapsed since their stroke. Despite this context, the Wheeleo® offers very interesting effects and compensates for their functional deficits by providing long-lasting support.

Several key gait parameters are improved with the Wheeleo®:

  • A better and more uniform weight-bearing
  • A two-phase gait without stopping in double support
  • A higher spontaneous speed, with:
    • longer steps
    • increased cadence
    • improved step symmetry

These improvements allow for a more fluid, natural, and efficient gait, even in a patient whose spontaneous motor recovery is now limited.

The use of Wheeleo® in neurology is therefore also relevant for patients in the chronic phase, where the recovery capacity is low. It improves gait by offering constant and secure support.

By promoting walking autonomy, Wheeleo® allows the patient to walk more and with better quality, which significantly improves their well-being and daily quality of life

Wheeleo® thus positions itself as an advantageous replacement for tripod and quad canes, combining safety, stimulation, and long-term comfort.
