I work in neurosurgery as a physiotherapist, and we do rehabilitation in the acute neurology and neurosurgery units at Saint-Luc University Clinics in Brussels.<\/p>\n\n
This can involve a patient who has just had an acute stroke, as we have seen recently, but also patients with multiple sclerosis with hemiparesis, either crural-pedal, or patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease. In fact, it’s really multimodal. There is no preference for a type of patient or pathology. It mostly depends on what I can observe clinically. <\/p>\n\n
Personally, and clinically, I notice that the gait quickly becomes more fluid. For example, if we take the case of the patient we saw earlier, he quickly showed a more fluid gait compared to a quad cane. <\/p>\n\n
With the quad cane, you have to move it each time, which requires coordination of movements that can be complicated. The Wheeleo\u00ae simplifies this process, and I often observe an improvement in walking speed compared to the quad cane. <\/p>\n\n
This tool brings a lot to rehabilitation and patients not only regain a more fluid gait, but also a faster one. It’s a real source of satisfaction for them. <\/p>\n\n
