One coma.<br\/>Numerous complications. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s her mom, Ludivine, who narrates &#8211; with the calm precision of someone who has been through the unthinkable and come out on the other side.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Lots of complications &#8211; but voila, Gauthier is a warrior and he&#8217;s here!&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From wheelchair to independent walking<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gauthier&#8217;s rehabilitation progressed in stages:<br\/>wheelchair, then ramp, then assisted walking. It was at this point that the Wheeleo\u00ae was suggested by the care team &#8211; to make his walking more fluid, more stable, and enable him to gain greater autonomy. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ludivine&#8217;s first reaction was surprise:<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;My first reaction when I saw the Wheeleo\u00ae was something very maneuverable, very easy, that didn&#8217;t make any noise.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what struck her most was stability &#8211; crucial in the case of Gauthier, whose brain operations made any fall potentially catastrophic:<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;When Gauthier had a little hesitation when standing up, the Wheeleo\u00ae didn&#8217;t move.<br\/>Gauthier never had a fall &#8211; never had the sensation of falling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A tool for revalidation, not just assistance<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What sets this testimonial apart is the dimension of therapeutic progression. Then, with a little exercise, I was able to do without it &#8211; to give way to normal walking.<br\/>I&#8217;ve gained a lot of independence thanks to it.&#8221; <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And his conclusion, straightforward:<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;There&#8217;s no question about it.
